Via some other blog, we have that the US Army is testing remote-control flying sniping platforms.

The U.S. Army is testing the Autonomous Rotorcraft Sniper System (ARSS) — a remote-controlled unmanned Vigilante robot helicopter equipped with a high-velocity sniper rifle¹.

Its RND semi-automatic gun is mounted on a self-stabilizing turret with built-in zoom camera, and fires 7 to 10 precisely aimed .338-caliber rounds per second.

The system is controlled with a common Xbox controller, making this ARSS² possibly the ultimate gamer's fantasy. And quite a nightmare for those at the receiving end; a volley of .338 bullets aimed at you is not much fun.
